Hunter's Quarry (Minor; at-will)
Ryk can designate the nearest enemy to himself, or the nearest to Spring, that Ryk can see as his quarry. Once per round, when Ryk or Spring hits the quarry with an attack, the attack deals 1d6 extra damage. If Ryk and Spring make multiple attacks in a round, Ryk can decide which attack to apply the extra damage to after all the attacks are rolled. If Ryk or Spring have dealt Hunter's Quarry damage since the start of Ryk's turn, neither can deal it again until the start of Ryk's next turn. The Hunter's Quarry designation remains active until the end of the encounter, until the quarry is defeated, or until a different quarry is designated. Ryk can have only one quarry at a time.

Character Information Edit

Background Edit

Ryk Tavishny was a hunter and a warrior of his tribe, and fought in skirmishes against Valenar Elves and Cyran troops during the war. On the Day of Mourning he was far to the east near Valenar, so he did not hear about it for several days. He has visited the edge of Cyre, though, and seen the misty boundary. It frightened and fascinated him, and he began to think about all the things in the world beyond the Plains that he knew nothing about, and yet could destroy everything he loved in an instant.

After that visit to the edge of the Mournland, Ryk found he couldn't go back to simple nomadic life; he needs to know more about the world, about the magical, political, natural and supernatural wonders and threats. Not that he can DO anything about them, he just wants to know what's coming before it hits him. It's a curiosity with a fatalistic flavor.

After competing in the Race of the Five Horns in Sharn, Ryk found himself defending a local noble against an assassination attempt, and discovered he had some talent for battlefield medicine. He believes he might have some unknown tie to House Jorasco.

Appearance Edit

Ryk is muscular and large for a halfling, deeply tanned and with long wild hair that resists being tied back. His companion Spring is a clawfoot dinosaur trained for hunting and war. Spring will let Ryk ride him in an emergency, but he doesn't enjoy it, and since he doesn't run any faster than Ryk does there is not much reason to unless Ryk is injured. Age: 22 Gender: Male Height: 4'6" Weight: 95 lbs.

Ryk is quiet, serious and curious. He is level-headed, even-tempered and competent. When someone is being foolish or trying to insult him, his response is often a silent stare, something between contempt and disbelief.
