Background Edit

Shava is the daughter of Delmont (father) and Tevya (mother) Devla d'Lyrandar. She was bred for a life of court, her father desperate to reposition his immediate family higher up in the ranks of House Lyrandar. Shava however had other aspirations. Her family traveled often between Sharn and Stormhome, and she soon learned to call each home. The more she saw of her families airships, the more she felt the call of the sky surge through her veins.

As the war raged on, she got her opportunity. Shava found herself entertaining one of the young Lyrandar's at a ball one night, and after showing him some of her natural talents, he in turn spread the information forward, and soon the whole house seemed abuzz with her potential. We were at war, after all, and any able bodies Storm Rider could prove all the more profitable in the air. Suddenly it was in her father's best interest at court for her to get what she wanted.

The war gave her many opportunities to hone her skills and learn new one. She fought her share of battles, found adventure, and learned almost every position on an airship, eventually being placed as First Mate on most expeditions. She never was allowed to Captain however, something she blamed on her father. Once the war was over, the call for her presence on the ships didn't seem as important, and her father once again dragged her back to court. Shava, though very skilled there, could not help but want to be away and in the air.

She tried to convince her father how much potential there was for profit and prestige if she was allowed to pilot her own airship and set its agenda, but he would hear none of it. So she left, intent on proving her point, even if she has to raise enough funds to buy an airship, herself.

Appearance Edit

Shava is a very attractive, young woman, with chestnut brown hair, featuring a single streak of electric blue toward the front right. She generally wears it loosely down, behind her shoulders. The discipline of her past continues and she keeps herself, clothes, and equipment remarkably clean and in order. She does not generally wear makeup when not in court. She appears thin yet athletic.

Her new attire consists of a teal corset top, with matching short should jacket and tight shorts. Her small, Safewing amulet, sits on lightly around her neck and her boots are a dark sea green, accenting the top, though tough and durable. She wears her brown leather belt loosely so that her brown Githweave armor will appear summoned below it. This not only helps keep the armor secure but allows her free access to the sheathes on each hip. The sheathe on her left holds the Challenge Seeking dagger, gifted to her by Elec-Squall. The sheathe on the right often appears empty, for it holds Shava's Bag of Holding, within, all he other supplies sit.

Personality Edit

Alignment: Unaligned

Shava seems to most to have an almost dual nature. Her upbringing as well as her time serving on the airships during the war, have made her very disciplined. When she's working she takes herself very seriously, and can seem very single minded. Underneath this strict image, she's a creature who follows her instincts, and loves life in a very pure way. If anyone was to get through her firm social defenses, built up from years of painful court diplomacy, they might discover a very different person.

Hooks Edit

  • Shava has been purposely avoiding the requests and advances of many potential suitors in House Lyrandar, other Houses, the military, and some merchant houses who would love to be joined with House Lyrandar. Some may be looking to take her current goals, and poorly financed position to their advantage, hoping to gain her favor. Others may be hurt, and do what they can to stop her.
  • Shava's parents are completely against her current venture. While they would never oppose her openly, they have no qualms about opposing her in more subversive ways.
  • Due to her current poor finances, and blind determination, Shava may be inclined to take jobs that may not be the best decision.
  • She is an exceptionally proud person, and may be driven to do things when her integrity is threatened.
  • Shava knows something is wrong with Elec and if given a lead will follow it to find out what. (Elec-squall has been taken captive by the Kings's Guard for experimental purposes.)

PC Connections Edit

Roswyn d'Sivis Edit

Roswyn and Shava met in noble court, and since then have encountered each other in several diplomatic situations, both official and with the false guise of a social event, in Stormhome and Sharn. Obviously skilled, and a worthy ally in court politics, Shava worked up relationship of respect with the gnome which turned into a bit of a friendship. While Shava doesn't think Roswyn would take a bullet for her, she is one of her few contacts from that area that she would call friend, honestly.

Luckily for Shava, she reunited with Roswyn shortly after looking for work in Sharn. Together, with Roswyn's group of eclectic adventurers that got to the bottom of some gang activity and even found a Dragon's Hoard.

Pok d'SivisEdit

Shava met Pok while working on Lyrandar's airships, and he a messenger. They were hired on a few occasions to ferry the gnome to locations across Korvaire, allowing him to cross great distances with relative speed and safety. She rarely saw him to his final destination, due to the nature of the work, but a few good fights next to a person and certainly get you to talking. They share a mutual distaste for the opinions of their families. While Pok has occasionally spoken of his golden-girl sister, Shava has no idea that he refers to Roswyn.

Shanairra Zanne d'Lyrandar (ABANDONED)Edit

Shava's young cousin, provided the few, highly valued, respites from her training and schooling as a young child. The two families had always been close, and her parents encouraged the two's friendship. When she went missing and was later pronounced dead, Shava barely had time to grieve amongst her schooling. Perhaps that's why she's had a feeling that Shanairra's not really gone. . .

Elec-Squall d'Lyrandar (Retired as an NPC)Edit

Notable son of Lyrander. The Lyrander. Do to their closeness in age when Shava was in the courts she was encouraged to pursue him romantically by her parents. It was a horrid task, pulling an innocents heartstrings, but she complied at least a little. Mild flirtations and thinly veiled piques of interest flowed from her for years before he disappeared from the courts for special training. Shava was a bit disappointed. It was one of the more pleasant tasks her parents had put before her. Still it was a task her parents had put before her, and she never let it go beyond courtly intrigue. Each time he would try and advance things she slipped away telling her parents that it was he who was doing so to her.

When she began her work on the airships, she was surprised one day when the House put together a special crew to work with one of their secret programs. Almost everyone aboard was born into the family. To put so much talent, and so many heirs, in one place during the war seemed risky. That's when she learned more of the squall program, and met Elec again. He was different now. Not only had he begun changing physically his attunement to the elements made him seem more alive, more engaging. She looked forward to those escort and testing missions, advancing her parents request even now. Though she kept her stern exterior during the day, being first mate, she would look for time to be with Elec alone. When the war ended, he confessed his love, and when she realized her feelings may be real, she rejected him.

She returned to the courts shortly thereafter, and he never appeared before her again. She still keeps the dagger he gave her with her at all times, refusing to see the sentiment she carries with it.

Tamarand(Retired as an NPC)Edit

Drow Elf and part of the original adventuring group Roswyn was running with. Cocky, arrogant, and undoubtedly powerful. Shava had mixed feelings, of respect, mistrust, and jealousy toward the elf. His mood shifted from insulting, to flirtatious which drove Shava a bit mad. Shava suspected there was Lyrandar blood somewhere in his line. He took his leave shortly after the slaying of the dragon.

TondrekEdit

Half-orc artificer and part of the original adventuring group Roswyn was running with. Clearly, some kind of idiot savant. Shava's taken a liking to him, as not only is he kind but useful. She's got a feeling that if she got her hands on an airship, he'd find a way to make it better. Still working on speaking and translating his terms. Roswyn's good at that though.

Large, tough goliath and part of the original adventuring group Roswyn was running with. Shava liked her enough to want to keep her alive. She was useful for standing behind. Roswyn seems to trust her.

  • MBA - how is this +11 to hit? I would think it's -1 (str) + 3 (1/2 level) + 5 (prof. + Enhance) + 1 (expertise) = +8 to hit vs ac.
